Ecrotek Australia – Live Bee & Queen Policy, Waiver & Guarantee 

 

At Ecrotek Australia, we are committed to providing healthy, high-quality live bees and queens to support Australian beekeepers. Due to the sensitive nature of live bee shipments, please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

 

Disclaimer:

Ecrotek and its suppliers maintain strict quality assurance and control processes to ensure bees are supplied in healthy condition and free from detectable disease at the time of dispatch. However, Ecrotek cannot guarantee that every purchase will be entirely free of disease, nor can we ensure that the hives into which mated queens are introduced are free of existing issues.

 

Accordingly, Ecrotek does not accept liability for any direct or consequential losses arising from the presence of disease in bees or hives.

 

  1. Shipping & Handling
  • Availability – Mated queens are available for purchase within NSW only, in compliance with DPI Biosecurity restrictions. Available from Mid-October to late summer.
  • Domestic Shipping – All live bees and queens are shipped via Express Post to ensure fast and safe delivery.
  • Dispatch Schedule – Orders are dispatched Mondays only to avoid weekend transit delays.
  • Address Requirements – We are unable to ship to PO Boxes, Parcel Lockers, or Parcel Collect addresses. Please provide a valid street or business address for delivery.
  • Preferred Delivery Method – Authority to Leave (ATL) is preferred where permitted. Customers should ensure the delivery location is safe, sheltered, and accessible.
  • International Shipping – Prohibited under Australian law.

 

  1. Ownership & Risk

Once your bees are handed over to Australia Post for delivery (F.O.B. Shipping Point), ownership and responsibility transfer to you as the customer.

 

While we take every precaution to ensure your order is packed and shipped with care, Ecrotek Australia cannot be held liable for:

  • Delivery delays beyond our control
  • Shipments that are lost or misdirected during transit
  • Bees or queens that may arrive Dead on Arrival (DOA)
  • Any costs relating to colony establishment, replacement bees, disease management, or lost productivity

 

  1. Guarantee

We take great care to ensure all mated queens are healthy, viable, and free from disease at the time of dispatch.

 

Please note that survival after shipping cannot be guaranteed, as factors such as weather, transit conditions, and handling are outside of our control.

 

To help us resolve any issues quickly, customers are required to inspect their bees immediately upon delivery and report concerns within 24 hours, including clear photos and details.

 

  1. Customer Responsibilities

By placing an order for live bees or queens, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You will provide a safe and suitable environment for delivery.
  • You understand that live bees are sensitive organisms and require immediate and proper care upon arrival.
  • You accept the inherent risks associated with shipping live bees and queens, including the possibility of loss or mortality beyond Ecrotek’s control.

 

  1. Waiver & Acknowledgment

By placing an order, you agree to waive any claims against Ecrotek Australia for any losses, damages, or costs associated with the delivery, health, or survival of bees or queens.

 

This waiver applies to all live bee shipments, including queens and nucs, and covers both full and partial losses.

Shipping Policy

Ecrotek Live Bee & Queen Shipping Policy (NSW Only)

At Ecrotek, we are committed to delivering healthy live bees and queens safely and responsibly to our customers in NSW. Because live organisms require special handling, all orders are prepared and dispatched in line with Australia Post’s domestic shipping guidelines.

Please note: Ecrotek can only supply Mated Queens to NSW due to varroa mite state border restrictions.

 

Shipping Details

  • Express Post only – All live bees and queens are shipped via Express Post to ensure the fastest and safest delivery.
  • Dispatch days – Orders are dispatched on Mondays only, reducing the risk of bees being held in transit over weekends.
  • Address requirements – We cannot ship to PO Boxes, Parcel Lockers, or Parcel Collect addresses. A valid street or business address is required.
  • Delivery method – Our preferred method is ‘Authority to Leave (ATL)’, where permitted. This helps minimise handling delays and stress on the bees. Please ensure your delivery location is safe, sheltered, and accessible.

 

International Shipping

Bees cannot be shipped internationally via Australia Post. All international shipments of live animals are prohibited unless under very limited exceptions (which do not include bees).

 

Customer Responsibility & Risk

By placing an order for live bees or queens, you acknowledge and accept that:

Ownership and risk transfers to you once the bees are handed to Australia Post (F.O.B. Shipping Point).

 

Ecrotek is not liable for:

  • Delivery delays outside our control
  • Lost or misdirected shipments
  • Bees or queens that arrive Dead on Arrival (DOA)
  • Any costs related to colony startup, replacement bees, disease management, or lost productivity

 

Ecrotek Returns & Refunds Policy – Live Bees & Queens

At Ecrotek, we take pride in supplying healthy live bees and queens. Because these are live organisms, special conditions apply to returns and refunds.

 

Live Bees & Queens Returns & Refunds Policy

All sales are final – We cannot accept returns of live bees or queens under any circumstances, due to biosecurity and animal welfare reasons.

No refunds or replacements will be issued for:

  • Delivery delays caused by Australia Post or other third parties 
  • Lost or misdirected shipments
  • Bees or queens that arrive dead on arrival (DOA)
  • Any associated costs for replacement, colony startup, or losses in your apiary
